North Shore Scenic Steam Charter
Come ride a private steam charter on the North Shore Scenic Railroad from Duluth, MN. Newly restored Duluth & Northeastern RR 2-8-0 #28 will power this excursion to Two Harbors, MN. The private business car Northland will make a rare appearance to finish off an all vintage passenger car consist. This will be a rare experience that shouldn’t be missed!
Included with your excursion ticket is admission to the Lake Superior Railroad Museum that is also housed in Duluth’s historic Union Depot. The museum’s collection consists of rare regional equipment that was used in the mining and logging industries. The LSRM is one of the finest railroad museums in America.
The excursion will be run on the Tuesday before the convention begins. Duluth is a 2.5-hour drive from the convention hotel. Ticket options include both motor coach service to and from the convention hotel, as well as a “drive yourself” option.
Being the largest US port on Lake Superior, Duluth was built on shipping and railways. In recent years it has transformed itself into a premier tourist destination. There are still plenty of railway sites to see and it is worth spending a few days there to explore the city and area. Staying at one of the many hotels in Canal Park will get you close to most of the attractions.
NOTE: We must meet our minimum ticket sales by June 1, 2018 to make this excursion a go. Please sign up early!
